sweet, simple, and sunflowers

...that was a winning combination for the beautiful backyard October wedding in the countryside of Stafford Virginia. This couple and their family are very near and dear to my heart so I was honored to be asked to help Sandi and Jack tie the knot, in an intimate, outdoor ceremony, at her family's home. It was a perfect day, from the weather, to the guests, and even down to their delicious desserts. This wedding could simply not have been sweeter.

Their wedding was made all the more enchanting by their adorable flower girls and one of the best stetsons atop their ring bearer I have ever seen! Trevor was quite the character and brought so much laughter to that day. The bride's chosen flowers for the wedding, beautiful, full sunflowers, balanced with pops of bright pink really popped against the chic modern black gowns her bridesmaids wore that day.

One of my favorite signs Sandi and Jack asked me to create for them was an "unplugged ceremony" sign.  I fell in love with the sentiment, and taking a moment to ask your guests to be fully present with you in your marriage ceremony  is such a beautiful way to say put that phone away! And they did. It was wonderful to see a ceremony uninterrupted by flashes and blocked from view by iphones. We styled it with just a little seedy eucalyptus to tie in with the rest of the ceremony floral and decor and I love this beautiful capture from the fabulous Katelyn Cash.

The details from Sandi and Jack's day were so fun to collaborate on! Jack's mother had this oversized easel we used as their reception sign, and a fun vintage door for clipping cards, there were beautiful antique medicine jars lining the tables and filled with flowers, and even a beautiful Artifact Uprising Guestbook- a surprise gift from their family.

After the photo moments for the bride and groom we got the reception started with some traditional dances, and some good old fashioned busing of moves!

Sandi and Jack danced for the first time as husband and wife to a country favorite: "Tennessee Whiskey" By: Chris Stapleton, which I had written out as a wedding gift to them on Silk and Willow's cotton rag paper.

Then to finish the night out right, we bought out a couple dozen of Sugar Shack's delicious donuts, and a crazy delicious cookies and cream cake from Shindigz To Go! It was a sweet display and they went fast! Our love script topper made an appearance and its always special to see something from your wedding being used and loved by another couple, and becoming part of their love story too!

As the dancing commenced in full we headed inside to make sure we Signed, Sealed, Delivered the marriage liscences! #hickstohylan
